HITTING THE GROUND RUNNING

I am currently at the very beginning of my graduate journey here, having only just started my first rotation in the Sales Portfolio Management team in Essen. One thing that has really impressed me so far is how much the company has done to help me and my fellow graduates settle in and make sure we are ready for the challenges ahead. Last week, for example, we had a five-day induction, where we were able to gain early insight into the company and its products, and learn more about what each of our rotations is going to entail.

DEVELOPING SOFT SKILLS

We also had a couple of days of “soft skills” training, to make sure we would be able to work effectively in our teams and build relationships across the business. Prior to the induction, we had each completed a personality test, designed to identify our individual working styles. Based on the results, we were each able to analyze our ways of working and develop an approach that would suit our personality best.

I found this extremely useful, not only in terms of the personal insight it provided but also because it helped me understand that other people have different working styles and approaches that you have to be able to accommodate.

All in all, it has been a fantastic way to kick off my career with RWE Supply & Trading, and I now feel ready to start making a real impact in my first graduate role.
